SCHOOL CLOSING/DELAY & Bus Transportation During Winter
For the most up to date listings of closings and delays, please check the following website.
FASRI does not have a specific school dress code.
However, students should have sneakers or other closed-toe shoes on during school. Sneakers with non-marking soles are required for physical education classes. Flip-flops and open toe sandals are not suitable for the playground or recommended for school.
FASRI has two recess periods a day. Please be sure that your children are properly dressed.
In the Fall: please be sure students have a coat or vest.
In Winter: please be sure students have a warm coat, hat, mittens, snow pants, and boots.
In the Spring: please be sure that students have a coat, vest, and/or water repellent coat. Rain boots and winter boots are encouraged as long as students have sneakers for indoors.
During Fall and Spring, please pack a sun hat and sunscreen for your child. Please inform the teacher that your child has sunscreen so that the teacher may remind the student to put it on.
Students are required to dress themselves and keep track of their clothing. Lost & Found bins are on each floor. If a student’s attire is unacceptable, parents may be called to come pick up their child.
When ill students attend school, they slow their own recovery and pose a health risk for their classmates.
A student should not attend school if s/he:
– has a fever of 100 degrees or higher
– persistent severe pain
– severe cold symptoms
– has been vomiting
– has diarrhea
Children exhibiting any of these symptoms while at school will be sent home.
The school can not dispense medications. If your child requires medication, please give it to your child before school starts or after school.
Food & Snacks
Students are responsible for their own lunches, either bringing them to school or signing up for the school’s lunch program. more on the lunch program
Refrigeration is not available, and students do not have access to a microwave. Milk is supplied to all students, and water and plastic utensils are available.
Maternelle students have snacks provided in the morning. Elementary students may bring a morning snack from home that can be eaten at recess. Snacks are not provided for after school or clubs. Please pack a snack for your child(dren).
NUT FREE POLICY
FASRI has a nut free policy. Please check the ingredients of packaged foods when sending your child(ren) to school with a snack. Please do not make snacks that contain nuts for your child(ren) to bring to school. Please refrain from packing candy for your child(ren) as candy often contains traces of nut products.
