Bravo to FASRI grade 8 graduates
On Tuesday, June 7, 2011, FASRI held its third annual eighth grade graduation. The evening also celebrated the fifth successful year of FASRI’s Middle School program.
After moving speeches from Head of School Dominique Velociter (formally Thompson), Education Coordinator Genevieve Vincent, and Middle School faculty Julia Johnston, Thomas Keohane, and Adeline Broussan, the floor was given to the two graduates, Frank and Olivia. Both students began at FASRI before Kindergarten and, at the end of their dual-language education, are now fully bilingual and articulate, mature young adults. Their speeches painted FASRI more as a second home than just a school, their peers and teachers more as family than as classmates and educators. Watch the graduation ceremony.
Both Frank and Olivia were accepted to all of the competitive, independent schools to which they applied. Frank will pursue the honors track at his school of choice, while Olivia will return to FASRI in the fall to continue her French in our specially-tailored after-school alumni language class. We wish them both the best of luck. Bravo!
