Early Arrival

Before-school care (early morning drop-off) is provided at no charge from 7.30am in the cafeteria until the beginning of the school day. Fifteen minutes before the school day begins, the assistant teachers escort students to their respective classrooms.

La Garderie – FASRI Afterschool Care

La Garderie is designed to provide an enriching and positive after-school experience for every child. Students are divided into age-appropriate groups (PS-K and Grades 1-8). After a short recess, students in Elementary and Middle School work on homework for at least half an hour and then are offered activities such as outdoor play if weather permits or library time and technology-based educational games. La Garderie is available at a reasonable rate until 5:30p.m.

The goals of La Garderie are:

• to provide a safe, nurturing environment for students remaining after school
• to provide a quiet time to do research or homework
• to promote individual responsibility and independent action, as well as the social skills necessary to be a positive, productive member of the community

Between 3:15 and 3:40pm simple snacks are provided, followed by recess. A typical snack may consist of whole grain crackers, apples or bananas. We try to serve healthy food; processed foods are avoided. If your child has special dietary needs please provide him/her with a snack.

The afternoon is divided in 2 periods:

• Period A : 3.15pm to 4:15pm
• Period B : 4:15pm to 5:30pm

Each period costs $10. Families will be billed for the amount of periods students attended at the end of every month.

The school closes at 5.30pm. After 5.30pm, an extra period per 10 minutes per family will be charged.
