A Welcome from the Head of School

Bonjour!

Welcome to the French-American School of RI, a bilingual and international school that I envisioned and founded in 1994.

Language is one of the first tools we use to understand and interact with the world. The philosophy at FASRI is to encourage children to express themselves in many different ways: French, English and sometimes a third native tongue, as well as through art, science, mathematics, computers, music and movement.

As early as the age of three, we welcome students into our full immersion program. They learn French naturally, absorbing it as they learn a new song, play with friends, bake cookies, or paint a picture. By the end of our bilingual program (grade 7), most children will have reached a high level of proficiency in French. Being bilingual is a unique gift that leads to increased opportunities throughout life, and acquiring this skill at a young age is an invaluable advantage.

The French-speaking world offers an unusual diversity of cultures, traditions and ethnicity. Even though many of FASRI's families are American, the student population represents over 25 nations, several students are trilingual and most parents understand some French.

Please come visit us and our wonderful enthusiastic students and teachers. We look forward to welcoming you to FASRI.
